Your character is a ordinary farmer who finds himself faced with zombies and at first very little in the way of weapons to deal with them.
He does acquire more powerful weapons but he's never going to be a supersoldier; you become aware that he can sprint only in short bursts and his weapon skills never guarantee that even his carefully aimed shots will always bring the enemy down. I'd recommend Land of the Dead for someone looking for solid, no frills fun. It doesn't have the detailed gameplay of far more expensive games but it delivers the videogame equivalent of those low-budget zombie movies: shuffling zombies, a variety of weapons, desperate situations, and a very slender "plot.
You've got to do some good shooting or Is it perfect? It's no RE4 or Half Life 2. However comparing Land of the Dead to those games would be like comparing a very low-budget but still entertaining movie to a major Hollywood production costing thirty times more to make.
If you don't mind some rough edges, you could find this game right up your alley. First person shooter for windows xp with gb onboard video or gb video card. Did i mention, you need to know how to aim and shoot a gun, to get through this game alive. This gives all weapons. Now,Your ready to hunt zombies! The trick is using the right gun at the right time. Starting the game with just the 22lr -4 shot lever action and the mag revolver and whatever ammo you can find is a real challange, at first.

I really do still love this game though and I would recommend everyone who loves zombies to buy this game. The only downfall with this game is that it was beat by me in 3 hours on normal and in 2 hours on hard. Still I have played it several times and like I said I really enjoyed it. Also apparently the game maker is out of business cause I tried to contact them and tried to go onto their website but it was no good.
The game is always in your computer and you don't have to tote around a bunch of CDs to play. Make sure to open and search everything you can, try out all the weapons you find and decide which works best for you. Only complaint is that it could have been made to play longer, but if you increase the difficulty then things get more interesting. Well worth the purchase price. I have put off purchasing this title to the point that it went out of production. The reason I put off purchasing it is because of the reviews.
